Course Description
This is a hands-on course focusing on the basics of the plumbing trade. It would be
of interest to anyone who plans on entering college in any construction related field;
to those who are looking at pursuing a plumbing apprenticeship; or to those who
have an interest in small plumbing repairs in their own home.
This 10-week course will expose trainees to most aspects of the plumbing trade and
industry. Trainees will be taught various piping applications and methods of
construction used in the plumbing trade.
  • Tool and site safety
  • Basic understanding of residential plumbing
  • Understanding of plumbing materials and fixtures
  • Hands on projects with copper, plastic and steel piping
  • Understanding methods used in the plumbing field
  • Installation of common household plumbing fixtures
  • Understanding of basic plumbing trade math calculations
  • Introduction to energy and water saving fixtures

TTG Plumbing Instructor

Jeff Gleadall has 25 years of plumbing and process piping experience with Turner
Plumbing of Stratford, 18 years as Journeyman Plumber in the field and seven [7]
years as Industrial Accounts Manager estimating and coordinating projects. Jeff’s
experience includes all aspects of the plumbing trade: residential, commercial,
industrial as well as process water, compressed air, Natural gas and TSSA required
jobs. Jeff is currently employed at Conestoga College Waterloo Campus as a
Plumbing Technologist, working with faculty and students on all practical projects for
the plumbing apprenticeship program.
